Looking at these photos you might think we trekked some ways to get to this cool, barren landscape, but not quite so! These picturesque fields are right down the street from my parent’s place which I used to drive by everyday on my commute to school and work. At first glance it doesn’t really look like much, but it just goes to show how the simple backgrounds of our everyday lives like this one can make for a beautiful story, and not to mention a beautiful backdrop. I met up with my sister that afternoon and what began as a plan to go thrifting quickly turned into a shopping adventure garnished with a spontaneous photo shoot where the both of us found ourselves giggling away and strutting around on some train tracks striking silly poses (something I find myself to be doing a lot of lately?). I also somehow happened to be wearing the most appropriate outfit that day for a surprise shoot and it couldn’t have suited this rustic countryside view better. A big shout out to my sister for braving this piercing cold weather to help me shoot this look – you didn’t say it but I know your fingers were freezing after the first 10 minutes because mine were so thank you! I promise there will be more posts once this cold weather thaws a little. On the bright side, in just a few short days, I’ll be surrounded by sparkling turquoise waters, warm sunshine and good company which means more photos to come!
