Being a blogger, I can sometimes get caught up with trying to create a look that is as equally flashy as the camera that’s capturing them. It had never crossed my mind to capture the types of relaxed looks I like to wear on a day to day basis, but why not? Because these are the kinds of outfits that reflect who we are in our everyday strides.
This look is one of my daily looks – one that I would put on to spend a day out, whether I’m meeting some friends, or doing some grocery shopping and checking off errands. I confess I normally do gravitate towards a simpler attire which prioritizes comfort and practicality because skimping on wearing warm layers in Toronto’s winter is simply not an option, especially if you rely on the public transit! As it happens, this day was one of those beautiful blue skied winter days with a crisp chill in the air, the perfect weather to allow us to warm ourselves by simply walking around, and oohing and aahing at foods that caught our eyes…and our noses. Kayla was visiting me on the weekend to enjoy some city sight seeing before I began preparing to move, and we spent the afternoon meandering through St. Lawrence Market, one of my absolute favourite places in Toronto.
I am a firm believer that an outfit does not need to be flashy or loud to make a statement nor to be considered chic, so long as you’ve got some nicely fitted basics and a few bolder pieces here and there, like this Wilfred checkered coat which I purchased years ago but still adore with all my heart.
What are the types of no frills outfits you sport to bring home the bread? 😉
P.S. I hope everyone is staying warm, safe and positive! Many disconcerting things have been happening since the start of the new year, but I am thinking about and wishing wellness for each and every one of you!
